Before you play the slots

This summer, a lot of people will go to casinos, whether they’re going to Vegas, taking a cruise, or just going to a nearby casino for a “staycation.” You might want to know which games have the best odds of success before you play, though. In order to learn which games give you an edge, we went behind the scenes at two casinos and spoke with the game managers.

The Best Bet Is Table Games

A Caesar’s floor manager named Jay Bean agreed to join us for a discussion about the games with the best odds. Many people, he claimed, are unaware that table games offer significantly better odds than slots.

They stick to the safe games—the slots—because they are afraid of card sharks stealing their money and have visions of tense Texas Hold’em tournaments in their heads. But they are harming themselves, he claimed. Bean’s guidance? After you’ve played the slots for a while, move on to the blackjack table and begin by simply watching.

Blackjack

According to Bean, blackjack has the best chances of winning, with a house edge of just 1% in the majority of casinos. Additionally, there is only one opponent—the dealer—instead of hooded poker champions. One of our simplest games is blackjack, according to Bean.

You simply need to find a number that surpasses the dealer’s without crossing the 21-year-old threshold. Bean advised beginners to sit down during a slower period, like the afternoon, and the dealer will guide them through the game.

However, this is not the case when playing poker. According to Bean, you should first practice playing the game at home with your friends until you feel comfortable doing so. Bean advised beginners to avoid the poker tables because the competition there can be fierce.

Craps

He advises switching from the Blackjack table to the dice game Craps, which has second-best odds and is also nearly 50-50. With all the boxes on the table, the craps table can be a little intimidating for a beginner, as Bean acknowledged. But it’s really not that difficult, and you stand a good chance of winning. In the end, all you are doing is placing a wager on a roll of the dice.

 Roulette

Your next stop, according to Bean, should be the roulette table. It’s easy to do and pays well. “So you placed a wager on your preferred numbers,” Bean said. The dealer spins, and you win if your number appears. If you only place bets on reds or blacks, you have a nearly equal chance of winning. “You will double your wager if it comes up red when you bet on red,” explained Bean.

Worst Odds

Worst chances? Naturally, the casinos did not want to discuss games with poor odds. We then turned to Forbes Magazine, which claimed that two well-known games—the Wheel of Fortune and the perennially popular slot machines—had the lowest odds of winning, with a house edge of 10% or more, in a report about the Best Bets at the Casino.

Experts Concur

Michael Magazine, a professor of analytics, did the math and came to the conclusion that blackjack is the best way to leave the casino with cash in your pockets. He claimed you have the best chances of succeeding if you invest some time in learning the game. In every single hand, you have a 44 to 48 percent chance of winning, he said, pointing out that no other casino game offers odds that good.

However, Magazine emphasized that he is not endorsing gambling because even games with the best odds still favor the house, according to him. “You will lose if you play it long enough. “In the long run, the house does not suffer a loss,” according to a magazine.

If you enjoy playing slots,

Last but not least, the state casino reports we looked at provide some useful information to know if you really enjoy playing the slots. With slots, your chances of winning increase with the amount of money you wager. You have much better odds if you deposit the maximum amount into a penny slot machine, which is typically around 50 cents, as opposed to 2 cents. Additionally, the odds on penny slots are the worst, with $1 and $5 slots paying significantly better.
