Currently, we have the following bio-related activities:Contribution to the WWI/gtz Global Biofuels report, and follow-up (report is completed, follow-up will start in June)

Perspectives of Bioenergy Trade in Europe (in cooperation with IE Leipzig and others, for German Environment Ministry - report is completed in German, English summary coming up in June)

Environmentally-Compatible Bioenergy Potentials in Europe (in cooperation with Alterra, EFI, and AEAT for EEA, will be released early June)

Scientific cooperation with JGSEE in Thailand on sustainable bioenergy potentials in Thailand (until 2007)

BioRegio - Implementing Sustainable Bioenergy Systems in 6 Model Regions in Germany (for German Environment Ministry, until end of 2006) see www.bioregio.info

Nature protection synergies in using landscape trimming residues for energy (for German Environment Ministry, until end of 2006)- in German

Sustainable Biogas Supply and Use (in cooperation with IE Leipzig, IFEU Heidelberg, for German Environment Ministry, until early 2008) - in German

Update of the "Material Flow Analysis of Sustainable Bioenergy Use in Germany" (for German Environment Ministry, until early 2007) - in German

Renewbility: Material Flow Analysis of Sustainable Transport in the Context of Renewable Energies until 2030 (for German Environment Ministry, until mid 2008)

CREATE ACCEPTANCE (EU 6 FP project, part concerning biomass) see www.createacceptance.net.

We have plans for the following activities to start this summer/fall:Scoping study on sustainability standards for bioenergy (for WWF Germany)

Study on international sustainability standards for bioenergy trade (for German Ministry for Environment as a contribution to the G8 GBEP)

Demo project on biomass cofiring and advanced biomass gasification (with German electric utility)
