Douglas Bradley- President, Climate Change Solutions:

Doug Bradley is respected as a visionary with a passion for solving climate change issues at the grassroots level, while maintaining a strategic and global perspective. He spent 12 years in the forest industry leading strategic planning and evaluating acquisitions up to $1.5 billion. He has been involved with climate change since 1992, distinguishing himself as a leader in developing methodologies and writing Canada’s first protocols for measuring and accounting for carbon sinks from forest management activity. He served as National Team Leader on International Energy Agency Bioenergy Task 38, which examines the ghg implications of bioenergy and sequestration systems. He was Chair- Forest Carbon Committee, Forest Products Association of Canada, developing industry positions, advancing knowledge of ghg impacts and recommending government policies.

Doug Bradley left the forestry industry in 2002 to start Climate Change Solutions, a consulting business focusing on forest carbon sequestration and development of renewable biomass energy. Clients include major forestry companies, associations and governments in Canada, the United States, and Europe. Mr. Bradley is on the Board of Directors on the Canadian Bioenergy Association and also acts as Vice-President Finance & Treasurer. He is the National Team Leader for Task 40-Biotrade for IEA Bioenergy, and is a member of Task 38-Greenhouse Gases. He is a member of the Canadian Forest Association.

Prior to consulting and forestry, over 15 years he held senior positions in the finance industry in Toronto and the oil & gas industry in Calgary, and also worked in policy in the federal government. Accomplishments include; initiating lumber exports to Japan, acquiring three sawmills and a paper mill, advising a bank on a New York Trading Centre and national ATM strategy, and preparing performance reviews Syncrude tar sands for the Gulf Board of Directors.

Doug received a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Ontario (Richard Ivey School of Business), and a B.Sc. (Honours) in Mathematics from Queens University. Details can be seen at http://www.climatechangesolutions.net
