Joint T40 & Eubionet workshop

Joint Task 40 & EUBIONET2 workshop on trading, legislation and biomass use

On 19-20 February 2007, IEA Bioenergy Task 40 and EUBIONET organised a joint workshop on biomass policies and trade in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The aim of the workshop was to look for improvement of bio energy policies in Europe by discussing arising issues and by learning from experiences in other countries. Workshop topics included trade of solid biomass and trends in the market, sustainability certification for bio-energy and chain management, new developments in bio energy policies and the potential for energy from (biogenic) waste.

A summary of the workshop is available here [1,185 KB] . Below, all visual presentations of the workshop are available for download.

Next to presentations, the workshop featured a tour through the harbour of Rotterdam and (on tuesday) an excursion to the Essent Amer power plant [397 KB] , where large quantities of biomass are co-fired. A summary of both tours is given here [480 KB] .
